![]() The video was of me and the guy on the train. ![]() I opened it and quickly realized what it was. The first thing to show up on my notifications was a video that was apparently going viral. I grabbed my phone and started walking, both earbuds in once again. I stepped off the train with a smile, taking a breath of the fresh air. “Well, this is my stop,” I said to no one in particular. The train came to a stop shortly after I finished the act, and I grinned. The man’s eyes became dull and lifeless, a permanent look of fear etched into his expression. His heart stopped the moment I had commanded it. The man’s head snapped back up to stare at me in fear, and I smiled before snapping my fingers. Relief flooded the man’s face, and he bowed his head as he let out a shaky breath. I blinked up at him, no emotion crossing my features. Just… Just don’t hurt me, please!” God, what a wuss. “Please…” my attention went back to the guy before me. There was a soft murmuring coming from either side of me as the other passengers started to get nervous. “What the hell is going on?!” He shouted, his breathing picking up exponentially and his eyes darting around to look at everyone around us. The man stopped in place, barely a few inches from hitting me. “Listen, I’ve had enough here,” I muttered. “You little bitch!” he roared, charging towards me. “I’m just waiting for you to teach me a lesson. “Doing what?” I asked innocently, standing completely still as he missed punch after punch. He geared up again, putting all of his strength and weight behind his next punch. Once again, the guy brought his hand back, and once again, I flicked my fingers, causing him to completely miss me. “You want me to wait while you go grab your glasses?” “Obviously you have some issues with depth perception,” I sighed. His hand swung right past my face, not making any kind of contact. Apparently those weren’t the right words, because the guy brought one of his fists back and quickly brought it forward again in an attempt to punch me. “Really? Little cliche, don’t you think?” I sighed. “You might want to choose your next words very carefully,” He growled. ![]() He then grabbed me by the hoodie and yanked me up from my seat as well. His hands balled into fists, and he stood up from his seat. The man did not seem to respond to that well. “Just that you seem to be a spineless little asshole who sat on the sidelines as that woman was giving some other person shit. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?” He snapped, getting angrier. “I’m not going to let some judgmental hag push me over,” I growled through my teeth. I guess HYDRA’s taking public transport now. “She was being rude, but you weren’t helping.” I turned my gaze to him and smiled inwardly when I realized who he was. You didn’t need to say that.” Some guy near me grabbed my arm. The woman gathered herself up, fire burning in her eyes, before stomping off down the train car to scream at some other poor soul. I stuck my earbud back into my ear and glanced back up, only to find her still standing there. ![]() We’ll be the ones deciding whether or not to pull your plug in what… 3 weeks?" The woman was speechless, opening and closing her mouth like some wrinkly fish. I yawned and settled back down into my seat. “You… How dare you speak to me like that?! You need to respect your elders!” The woman stood there, bristling in anger at my statement. I’m not in the mood right now.” I rolled my eyes and took out my phone. How about you pull that stick out of your ass and go bother someone else. “Well, I’m not as young as I used to be, and it would be nice to sit down,” she sassed. How about you stand up and offer that seat to someone who needs it?” “You look pretty comfortable in that seat of yours. She had light brown hair that had obviously been dyed, considering her bright, silver roots were showing, and she must have had one too many face-lifts, as she now looked like the joker. She looked to be somewhere in her late 50s or early 60s. I clenched my jaw and slowly raised my eyes to meet those of some random old lady. Suddenly, a finger jabbing into the side of my arm snapped me out of my peaceful trance. I had a baseball cap tilted down to cover my (E/C) eyes and my hood was pulled up to hide my (H/L) (H/C) hair. The hard, uncomfortable subway seat was starting to hurt my back, but I reminded myself that there was only one more stop before I could get off and settled further into the seat. Renegade by Styx was blasting in my ears, drowning out the useless din of soft conversations and people shuffling where they were standing or sitting. I took a deep breath and put my earbuds in, trying to block out everything from around me. You manage to get yourself of SHIELD’s radar in a bad way, and soon enough, the Avengers are on your tail.
